It Sure Has Been A While
I have had this blog for a long LOOONG time, and mostly ignore it. So I think I might just start microblogging my thoughts. Lately I’ve taken a nosedive into SEO and trying to rank a few sites. I created quite a few web properties in the past but didn’t know the purpose for creating said properties.
I was the typical guy that went into something head first and didn’t think about why I was creating what I had created. Let’s face it… I wouldn’t spend 5 weeks of my life creating calculators for people and tools unless I could get some cash out of it.
SOOO! I was hoping to moneytize with Google Ads… noble idea… but you need traffic. Some of my sites were only getting like 6 hits per month. Which sucks hardcore!
I owned these sites for a year and I was seriously ready to give up. I was then introduced to a one blog by one of my good friends and I decided to do what it said.
I’LL ADMIT !! I’m wee ADD so I am all over the place right now and I started trying to push a credit repair site… Great site, great content, plan works, busted my ass…. but that field is sooo competitive it’s crazy.
SO I started doing a bit of research using what is quite possibly the best SEO software ever… Market Samurai.
I found that my other properties could win I could get them to the top of Google and all I had to do was think and have patience. It’s been one month since I’ve started doing this stuff and one of my sites is ranking on the first page of Google for several keywords and so far has gotten 500 hits in the last 30 days.
Here is an interesting graph:

So anyway, I’m sure that this will only get better as I continue to do the SEO for the sites and improve the properties… fixing pages with high bounce rates, etc.
I’ll post some of my learnings here, but I’m not going to go into great detail on backlinking strategies and so on. For that I will simply link you to stuff that I found interesting and helpful.
That’s all for now…
